由 Marvel Studios 親自主導的第 3 套蜘蛛俠《Spider-Man: Homecoming》無論在口碑以及票房取得相當出色，不單為 MCU 帶來注入新力軍，而且讓人更加期待 Tom Holland 蜘蛛俠之獨立發展。是此 Reboot 的成功幕後的編輯 John Francis Daley 可為功不可沒，為原本「老掉牙」故事注入新意，在他最新的訪談中透露了編寫劇本時的一些發想，特別交待了經典 Uncle Ben 這核心人物的處理。

We thought that, to keep this fun, light tone, as soon as they have to have their, like, 'Let's remember our dearly departed father figure' -- it derails that a little. And again, what we're trying to tell is this sort of fun story of the kid who is doing all the wrong things for the right reasons. And once you do that, it stops becoming a fun movie about a kid trying to be a kid. He's mourning the loss of a parent.

在對上一回《Amazing Spider》中可憐的 Uncle Ben 再一次「獻身」激發主角 Peter 成為蜘蛛俠，引來網民冷嘲熱諷，而在《Spider-Man: Homecoming》中 Uncle Ben 連「領便當」的機會也沒有了，John 表示開始構思劇本的時候直接跳過了主角成為蜘蛛人的過程，而且選擇 Peter 一個相對愉快的年輕片段作開端，讓電影的走向更加正面和具活力，不要讓 Peter 再次沉淪於悼念長輩輪迴中，無法表現出《Spider-Man: Homecoming》中的活潑性格，而 Uncle Ben「獻身」的橋段在 Peter 去參加舞會，May Parker 拿出 Uncle Ben 的舊衣服輕輕帶過，讓一早已經耳熟能詳的觀眾自行補完，反而更顯溫馨。各位蜘蛛俠粉絲又怎樣看待這處理手法呢？
